Rise Quilt- Block 5

Welcome back to the sew along! I'm so impressed with how many of you have kept up with the blocks. Here is number 5, I hope you like it!

We are now entering the blocks that are a little trickier to explain. As I am still very new to quilt pattern writing, I'm nervous that my instructions are lacking. Please don't hesitate to let me know if anything is unclear!

Also, there are secondary instructions for those of you who may be using Layer Cakes, or scraps that aren't quite large enough for the primary instructions.

  2. I was just cutting my pieces for block #5
    Fabric B should be 12.5 " x 1.5" instead of 8.5 x 1.5" ???

    1. Yes you are absolutely right. Thank you so much for telling me. I'm so sorry if that caused confusion for anyone else as well. It is now fixed!

    1. Hello! Thanks for your interest in the Rise pattern. You can find the links to blocks 1 through 5 on the top right tab "Rise Quilt Along". The rest of the blocks will release every other week, and then I will have the whole pattern available for purchase when the sew along is over in September. Sorry about the wait!

  5. As I have been playing catch up with both the blog and the conversation about this adorable QAL pattern, I have noticed that in the photos of your finished blocks you show some folded fabrics. I have been wondering what they signify?

    1. It's fabric that I'm using for other blocks, just for fun :) No hidden meaning there. Thanks for sewing along!

  7. This one was tough for me. I like to cut larger and trim down. I made 2 that were to long so by the 3rd I cut more off the 1.5 strips to "make sure" it was just right. Well, it's a little short. I'm going to try the 4th one by cutting as the pattern says. But first I'll try this new block.
