Monday Mockup #14

How about a little Monday Mockup revival? It's rainy and quiet here and I've been playing around with April Rosenthal's upcoming line "Sweet Marion". The colors aren't my usual scheme, but they have captured me. I just think it's so pretty! April named the line after her grandmother and I've loved reading stories about her on Instagram.

Pattern: Swoon by Camille Roskelley at Thimble Blossoms
Fabric: Sweet Marion by April Rosenthal for Moda (releasing in February I believe)

Have you made a Swoon? What fabric did you use? It's still my very favorite quilt pattern ever, I honestly think I'd love one in any line. Maybe 2017 will be the year :)

  1. I have made a swoon quilt from Cluck Cluck Sew and her fabrics. I definitely need more quilting experience. I have the smaller swoon pattern from Bonnie and Camille and will make that one this next year with my half yard of Handmade. I look forward to seeing your quilt!

  2. I made one and I was all go for the first 3 blocks - took me 2 years to finish and eventually did as it became a wedding present for my cousin. I used Kona navy as the background a FQB called Crazy Daisy for the blocks!

  5. Love this mock up! Yup, I also have the pattern, trying to decide what line of fabric I should use... And maybe make 12 stars to make it big enough for a bed?? But 9 stars look somewhat better... Decicions, decisions!

  6. Your Swoon mock up is so lovely! Swoon is my favourite pattern too - I made my quilt in Daisy Mae fabric by Denyse Schmidt. I have also used the Swoon pattern quite a few times to make mini quilts, in a bag, and recently made a Patchwork Swoon quilt in Canyon by Kate Spain.

  7. I've had this pattern for a while, but I still haven't made one. I'm hoping to get one done in 2017. :)

  8. I have so enjoyed the stories April has posted on IG, too. They are as captivating as the sweet fabrics. I am not usually one to want a whole line of fabric (I rarely by bundles or pre cuts), but I am very excited for this line!

I have made one Swoon block, for the center of a round robin mini quilt. I want to make a whole quilt some day, but need to get a bit more precise in my piecing!

Your mock up is simply lovely!
