Full Bloom Pattern for McCall's Quilting

I'm excited to share a new quilt design featured in the upcoming March/April issue of McCall's Quilting called Full Bloom.

The sample quilt was made up in "Olive's Flower Market" by Vanessa Goertzen of Lella Boutique. It was meticulously sewn by Paula Stoddard and quilted by Cindy LeBaron. Beautiful job ladies!

I just love all of Vanessa's fabric lines, and her quilt patterns too- check out her cute shop here. I was excited that several of  my favorite fabric designers included black prints in their new lines this past year, I think it provides the perfect sophisticated pop of contrast with the pretty light colors.

The pattern uses one block, which is both traditionally and paper pieced. The corners of the block create a really fun secondary design in the end.

Copies will be on newsstands in just a few weeks, and can also be purchased here online.

  1. I bought this pattern and started making it this weekend and there must be measurement misprints!! Because the corner units as written in the pattern do not line up. Not even close. Frustrating after all the cutting I did. It’s a pretty pattern, but aggravating that I have to figure out correct measurements and rewrite pattern, and then go back and recut all the squares I already cut before I can finish sewing.
