Today holds some very exciting news- I have my very first quilt feature in a magazine! Introducing "Star Kisses", an easy fat quarter quilt.
Earlier this year when I had just barely started this blog, I posted about my new-found love for designing in Electric Quilt. Soon after, someone from McCall's Quilting contacted me and encouraged me to submit some designs to their editors. I was shocked and delighted...mostly shocked! Many months later, here we are.
The digital pattern can be purchased immediately, and print copies of McCall's Quick Quilts February/March 2017 will be in stores December 27th. You can also purchase a full quilt kit with these very fabrics. I used the spunky line Hazelwood for Moda. So fun!
Here's a mockup with Christmas fabric using Pixie Noel and some Bonnie and Camille and Lori Holt basics. I really want to make this one next year! But I think I'm up to 5 Christmas quilts on "the list", so we shall see :)
Now for the best news of all- I've decided to give the original quilt to one of you! I'm beyond grateful for your support this year as I started a blog and pattern company. Every kind word means so much. Head over to my Instagram to enter the giveaway, and THANK YOU for being here and loving quilts with me! Merry Christmas!!

This is a wonderful design!!
ReplyDeleteFirst off CONGRATULATIONS! What exciting news for you! I will be looking for that magazine as soon as it comes out.
ReplyDeleteI just love this design you created! Since I am fairly new to quilting, about two years, I am still not confident of making my own fabric choices so tend to buy fat quarters in a designer's line. This is perfect for that! How generous of you to give that pretty quilt away, but you do know it will be loved. It was nice reading about all the excitement of giving on your Instagram. Great thread! Merry Christmas to you!
Congratulations! It has been an exciting year for you. Merry Christmas. DaveMelvaNolan at aol dot com

ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
It is a wonderful quilt! I so admire your talents. I can't imagine being able to design quilts while raising three busy boys. I did that once in a time long ago. It was ever so much fun but just sewing their clothes and cooking and keeping the house respectable looking and reading books to our delights was the best I could do! Keep up all your good works.
ReplyDeleteI keep wondering why I don't see very many blog posts from you and now I get it. You have been very busy on Instagram! I guess I better become more faithful in checking out Instagram! You are one of my very favorite designers and I see that I have missed out on a lot! Congrats on being published! No surprise there! :)
